Silk Noil's muffler and plant motif frills

In Japan, a typhoon passed by last night, I felt nice weather with a warm weather today.

Since the thread of the previously spun silk noil was very good, I made a driving knit muffler by spinning it more extensively.

It's shinier than the one I was imagining and the weight is light, and it is muffled up.
It is completely springy in design ^^;

Since there is time until spring, I decided to put a frill at the end.
It seems like we knit a lot of motifs because it is hard to handle threads, but I'm thinking of making ruffles with plant's leaf motifs as crochet and frills.

Like this!
I would like to make flower motifs etc. at the root.

As for the thread of the plant motif, I used the Belgian linen yarn I spun by myself.

Shetland Lace motif

The other day, I used a lot of threads when I made the silk cashmere Margaret.

This thread is sold from the brand called Avril in Japan.
 I bought cone winding thread for the first time, but I did not measure the weight at first, so I was at a loss for not knowing how much was left.
I was trying to find out what else I should use and I thought that fine was just right, so I decided to try Shetland Race which I thought was going to be done before a while.

I referred to a book that summarizes the techniques learned when traveling Estonia, written by famous knitting artist Hayashi Kotomi.
旅して出会ったエストニアのアメイジングニット (ニットマニアックス)

Among many colorful works, I was concerned about delicate works of Shetland Lace using one color.

There was something I was trying to do several times, but I gave up on every occasion because the pattern did not work out or the thread did not fit.
While suppressing the urge to put out hands on the shawls and mufflers listed in the book, we first decided to knit a small motif for practice.

 I managed to shape it.
It is characterized by decorations like ball knitting called Estonian knop at the corner of the diamond.

Romney ~spinning diary~

<Romney>
f:id:knitknitknit:20171021180434p:plain
Origin is the Romney Marsh region (also known as Kent State) located in a swampy place in the UK.
Mainly used for carpets, blankets, overcoats and interior fabrics. It is easy for beginners to handle, it is also suitable for dyeing and felt, making shiny yarn.

Romney is an easy-to-spin variety as much as it is used as an exercise lesson for Ananda's spinning lesson. (Ananda is  Japanese shop of  raw wool. ↓here is a web site)

When buying a spinning car, there was still about 50 g of top sliver shape that had been serving as a practice exercise.

・Touch of raw wool

Although there is a rough feel, it is softer than I thought to hold it, and there is some elasticity. Because it felt the same way as South Down, Chubiot, it seemed that it looked quite similar to the feeling of the raw wool of South Down, again after all.
